AUGMENTED REALITY: METAVERSE

All current work being done through Metaverse for Augmented Reality is recorded here.

Augmented reality can be used as an way of teaching. Adding an interactive activity to a classroom learning experience always enhances a student’s engagement. To be able to view and manipulate objects being learned about in class, can lead to deeper understanding, further exploration, and questions.

AR can be used so that students will access AR platforms with information or so that the student is creating the AR platform themselves. In both instances, AR in the class room is both beneficial and easy.

Also, most students own a smart phone and with AR being accessible through a smart phone, it makes accessing AR not a problem.

September 28, 2018
The AR Metaverse Wildwood Tour got published by admissions today!!

August 22, 2018
I have sent the first draft of the tour to Admissions. They have responded with edits that I have applied. I will be meeting with them tomorrow, Thursday the 23.

March 19, 2018
I took screenshots for Rebecca, Assistant Director of Admissions, Emma, The Director Admissions, and Janet, The Head of Publications of the Metaverse tour and added text with labels of each page to make their process easier.

March 15, 2018
I met with Rebecca, Assistant Director of Admissions, Emma, The Director Admissions, Janet, The Head of Publications, and Joe, COO. I walked them through the outline of the tour on Metaverse. We decided that they would send me the text for each of the pages before our next meeting.

March 8, 2018
I interviewed Becca, 6th Grade Humanities Teacher and have uploaded the video to my computer.

March 5, 2018
I have emailed the photographer I would like to work with on this project. I have also asked Becca, 6th Grade Humanities Teacher if she will do an interview with me for the tour. I will be asking her about humanities and Wildwood.

February 21, 2018
I met with Rebecca, Assistant Director of Admissions, Emma, The Director Admissions, Janet, The Head of Publications, and Joe, COO about my progress on the Wildwood Tour Metaverse project. We discussed the progress I have made in the app, the photos, and the interviews. They approved my photos, but for some of the photos  I am going to have to go back and retake them with important aspects present, for example the WISRD logo in the WISRD space photo.  Also they approved 2 of the 3  interviews. The interview with Maria, Language Department Director I will have to retake as they want more information on one of the questions. Also, for the photos that I have to retake and the photos I still need I am going to work with a friend here at Wildwood, who is a successful freelance photographer who does lots of interior photography. I think this will add refined elements to the presentation of the tour.

February 6, 2018
I am almost done with completing editing the interview with Maria, Language Department Director.  Also, I have contacted the people at Metaverse about the problem that has arisen in the past month. The Metaverse is not working in the Android but it is working with Apple.

February 5, 2018
I have completed editing the interview with Philip, Director of Community Programs and begun editing the interview with Alberto, Director of Human Resources and Compensation Administration and Director of International Community Involvement

January 30, 2018
I completed my third interview with Alberto, Director of Human Resources and Compensation Administration and Director of International Community Involvement. I asked questions about Wildwood’s International Community Involvement (ICI) trips and the effect of the trips on the students.

January 29, 2017
I finished my second interview with Maria, Language Department Director about the language department and global citizenship course offerings at Wildwood.

January 25, 2017
I had the first interview with Philip, Director of Community Programs asking him questions about Wildwood’s ICI Trips. I am going to then edit this interview and put it into the Metaverse Tour. The benefits of an interview in the tour is so that the outside eye can see the people here at Wildwood, instead of just a description.

January 16, 2017
I have taken more photos for the tour and I have conversed with some administration about my project trying to promote the tour.

January 11, 2017
I have put in all the text into Metaverse that is needed for the tour and I have taken about half of the photos that I need. I am also preparing for a AR/VR in Education presentation. For this presentation I will be talking about my project and past projects.

January 4, 2018
I met with  Rebecca, Assistant Director of Admissions, Emma, The Director Admissions, Janet, The Head of Publications, and Joe, COO. I had finished a rough draft of the Wildwood Tour, I presented this to them along with questions and suggestions I had. After the meeting we concluded that the Tour will partly be text that I have written, and partly videos I have put together of interviews of teachers/videos of the classroom.

December 11, 2017
Rebecca, Assistant Director of Admissions AND Emma, The Director Admissions has sent me their ideas on what they would like in the AR Tour. I discussed with Joe and have begun working on my WISRD Tour Proposal.

December 5, 2017
I had a meeting  with Rebecca, Assistant Director of Admissions, Emma, The Director Admissions, Janet, The Head of Publications, and Joe, COO. We talked of the WISRD Tour that I am going to be doing, Wow and the future of Wow and Metaverse. We also discussed what my proposal should look like and WoW’s idea too publicize WISRD through presentations at the Elementary School. The idea to publicize WISRD is to go the Elementary School and presenting their work to the 5th graders. We decides that the people that should go should be Molly, Myles, and I. We decided to invite them because they have the rocket launcher which we think will be very appealing to the 5th graders.
