Wind Tunnel, Aquatic Life

Despite the website being down for half of this academic year, much progress was made on both projects I have been involved with. Click the icon to read the posters presented this year.

October 21,

Marley had to re-cut the funnel. Bob and I put it together with duct tape, putting pieces next to each other and building the corners first. I also took pictures and videos of the wind tunnel for my college portfolio.

Worked on cutting the pieces out for the curved funnel. First I traced pieces with a projector, then traced the other pieces over the first piece. I cut the pieces so that they we could trim it later to fit propelry, you can always take away, never add more back.

October 7, 2024

Added mesh to the funnel and stapled things on tightly.

September 30, 2024

Worked on chamber to make sure that pressure plate would fit in the hole cut on the floor of the chamber.

September 23, 2024

I bought wood and started cutting pieces. I left instructions for Marley to make it.

Wednesday September 18, 2024

I went yesterday to ace hardware to buy wood that was the same width of the wood used on the chamber. Today I did all the calculations for the measurements of each piece of wood and calculated the total length of inches I would need to make sure we have enough wood.

Monday September 16, 2024

I sketched the supports for the chamber of the wind tunnel in my journal and realized that one side of the support would block visibility on the transparent panel of the chamber. I needed to change designs so I moved to Tinkercad and designed a new support there. The support is in green.

I cut out Mesh for the funnel. I stapled the mesh on and pulled to stretch it out as much as possible so its tight. I used hot glue on the ends that were pokey.

I am building the base for the tank. I spray painted it black and began nailing it together using hinges to hold all four pieces of wood together.
